Clinical practice

Consultations cover the full range of ENT presentations — hearing loss and ear disease, nasal obstruction and sinus disease, voice and swallowing problems, and swellings of the head and neck. Surgical work includes endoscopic nasal and sinus procedures, ear surgery and rhinoplasty. Consultations are held in English, Hindi and Kannada.

Teaching & research

Nineteen years of teaching, beginning at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and continuing at A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences, where he has led the ENT department since 2019. Twenty-eight indexed publications, with sustained work on facial nerve palsy protocols, endoscopic sinus technique and imaging in the planning of ear surgery.

Hearing loss and muffled hearing, ringing in the ears, ear pain, discharge or blockage, dizziness and balance disturbance, and repeated ear infections in children. Chronic middle-ear disease and its surgical management is a long-standing area of his published work, including the use of imaging to plan treatment.

Nose

A blocked or running nose that will not settle, sinus pain and facial pressure, reduced sense of smell, nosebleeds, and snoring or disturbed sleep. Endoscopic nasal and sinus surgery is a particular focus, including published work on reducing bleeding during endoscopic procedures and on endonasal tear-duct surgery.

Throat

A sore throat that keeps returning, hoarseness or a voice that has changed, difficulty or pain on swallowing, tonsil and adenoid problems, and lumps or swellings in the neck. Head and neck assessment includes thyroid and neck swellings, an area covered in his published comparative work on diagnosis.
